Our history

Essential Screens, founded in 2010, is a privately owned and operated consumer reporting agency (CRA) and a member of the Professional Background Screening Association (PBSA). We hold accreditation through PBSA, placing us in the top 10% of screening companies. Our company is in Grand Island, Nebraska, and services clients in all 50 states of the United States, Puerto Rico and internationally. 

Our company was created to improve the quality of each background screen. We identified that many of the screens that were being run in the industry were missing information, other CRAs were not knowledgeable about the services they offered, and the turnaround time was slow. After several years of building a network of elite researchers and implementing an easy-to-use software program, Essential Screens was launched. Our success lies in our commitment to providing high quality screens and superior customer service. Our staff are available to answer questions, solve problems and consult our clients on newly introduced regulations.
